Lady and the Tramp: See First Trailer for Disney+ Live-Action Remake

Watch free Movies 2020 Online

Disney shared the first trailer for their live-action remake of the classic 1955 animated film Lady and the Tramp Friday at the companys D23 convention. The movie will be among the exclusives available when the Disney+ streaming service launches November 12th.

In Disney+s Lady and the Tramp, a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic, a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home, Disney said of the film.

Like previous animated-to-live-action remakes, Lady and the Tramp makes sure to showcase its predecessors most memorable scenes; in this case, the iconic spaghetti-sharing sequence is teased at trailers end.

Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux voice the titular canines, with Janelle Monae, Benedict Wong and Sam Elliott also contributing their voices to the remake. A rescue dog named Monte, a two-year-old Terrier mix rescued by Hollywood animal trainers in Arizona, stars as the Tramp, while a cocker spaniel named Rose is Lady. Both dogs found forever homes after filming, Disney previously promised.

Lady and the Tramp follows a flood of Disney live-action remakes in recent years, including Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book and, this year alone, Dumbo, The Lion King and Aladdin. Live-action remakes are also planned for Mulan, due out 2020, and The Little Mermaid.

At D23, Disney+ also revealed plans to revive Hilary Duffs Lizzie McGuire, a Muppets Now series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, three additional Marvel series (She-Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel), and the first trailer for the Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

Watch Kate Upton Take on 80s Aerobics Dance Moves on Fallon

Streaming Full Movies 2020 Online free

The 1980s may be long past, but our love for Eighties aerobics dance moves will never die. On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon challenged actress and model Kate Upton to an 80s Aerobics Dance Challenge set to actual workout videos from the era.

In the clip, Fallon and Upton dress in Eighties gear, including neon patterns and a high ponytail for Upton. They take turns mimicking the moves of the Eighties aerobics instructors, which have not aged well. Thats kind of like the Eighties version of the dab, Upton comments about one move. The duo then pairs up for some joint workout sequences, which look slightly unsafe.

That was great, Fallon says, but I think we know how to end this. That conclusion is, of course, the iconic scene from Flashdance, involving actual water.

Upton also joined Fallon for a sit-down interview, where she discussed her marriage to Justin Verlander and how it helps her relate to Fallons movie Fever Pitch, as well as her love for Mario Cart and flip cup.Upton appeared on the show to promote her new workout program, Strong4Me, which she created with her trainer Ben Bruno and recently launched. Especially as a new mom its so hard to find time to work out and stay fit, Upton said. Ben and I wanted to make it convenient for anyone, anywhere.

Watch De Niro, Pacino, Pesci Recreate Jimmy Hoffa Saga in Trailer for Scorseses The Irishman

Stream Movies 2019 Online free

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci recreate the story of long-lost union boss Jimmy Hoffa in the gripping new trailer for Martin Scorseses long-awaited crime drama The Irishman. The film will premiere at the New York Film Festival, September 27th, before it is released on Netflix and in select theaters this fall.

De Niro anchors the film as the Frank The Irishman Sheeran, a World War II vet and hitman. In the opening scenes of the trailer Pescis Russell Bufalino boss of the Bufalino crime family puts the staid Sheeran on the phone with Hoffa (Pacino), who says, Our friend speaks very highly of you. I heard you paint houses prompting a quick cut to Sheeran throwing a mark through a glass door and putting a bullet in his head.

The rest of the trailer teases the broad scope of the historical drama, which spans several decades and delves into Hoffas story and, per a statement, the hidden corridors of organized crime: Its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.

The Irishman boasts an all-star supporting cast that includes Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Jesse Plemons, Jack Huston, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Kathrine Narducci and more. The film is based on the book, Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt, with an adapted screenplay by Steven Zaillian. The film notably used new anti-aging digital effects to depict De Niro, Pacino and Pescis characters as up to 30 years younger.

Trailers of the Week: Jojo Rabbit, Mister Rogers Biopic, Linda Ronstadt Doc

How to watch films Movies 2020 free online

On deck: Tom Hanks asks if you would be his neighbor; Cynthia Erivo goes underground; Helen Mirren gets regal, Russian style; Linda Ronstadt gets the documentary she deserves; Zombieland gets a sequel, for better or worse; and we get a second peek at two major upcoming awards-season movies. Behold, your trailers-of-the-week round-up.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Tom Hanks as the late, great Fred Rogers nuff said, right? Getting the movies modern incarnation of Jimmy Stewart to portray TVs personification of kindness is a casting coup, and it takes exactly three seconds of Hanks, clad in a red cardigan and singing the films title, to make your heart melt. Its based on Esquire journalist Tom Junods profile of the iconic PBS star, which ended up turning into a friendship between the two men. The Americans Matthew Rhys plays a character based on the writer; director Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) is calling the shots behind the camera. Were already tearing up. Nov. 22nd.

Catherine the Great
Shes played a ton of queens, so why not an empress as well? Helen Mirren is the woman who ruled Russia from 1762 to 1796 (thanks, Wikipedia!) and turned the country into a force to be reckoned with. Judging from the teaser for this HBO miniseries, her story is getting the full lush-period-piece-epic treatment from the network. Expect lots of violence, gowns and scowling. Should we just hand Mirren the Emmy now? Fall 2019.

The World and 'Hollywood' According to Quentin TarantinoTrailers of the Week: 'Cats,' 'Hustlers,' 'Top Gun: Maverick'

Gemini Man
The rise of this de-aging technology in Hollywood still has us a little unnerved, to be honest, but look: If its going to give us a middle-aged Will Smith having to outfight and outwit a younger Will Smith, who are we to say its wrong? Ang Lees action film pits Smiths over-the-hill hit man against a killer clone who looks like he just stepped off the Fresh Prince of Bel Air set. Clive Owen shows up in this second official trailer to look sinister; Mary Elisabeth Winstead drops by for some gunfire and sympathy; at one point, somebody punches a person in the face with the back tire of a motorcycle while driving it. Sold! Oct. 11th.

The Goldfinch
Because its not a fall movie season unless theres an adaptation of a major literary work, and this tony take on Donna Tartts Pulitzer-prize-winning novel definitely fits the bill. This second trailer plays up the psychic angst of a young boy (Oakes Fegley) after he loses his mother in a terrorist attack at the Met, and the life-is-a-journey drama of his older self (Baby Drivers Anson Elgort). The trailer drops a National song Terrible Love, for those playing along at home just to emphasize that all the feels are going to be felt. Nicole Kidman and Jeffrey Wright costar. Sep. 13th.

Harriet
Frankly, Harriet Tubman has been long overdue for a prestige-filled, awards-season-style biopic, and who better to play her than Widows Cynthia Orivo? Everything about this trailer for the life-and-times retelling of the anti-slavery activist and Underground Railroad guide screams that This. Is. A Very. Important. Movie. The fact that Kasi Lemmons (Eves Bayou) is in the directors chair is a huge plus. Nov. 1st.

Jojo Rabbit
Most of us had imaginary friends at one time or another when we were kids. Most of them were probably not, yknow, Adolf Hitler. The latest from visionistical director Taika Waititi revolves a young kid named Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) in Germany who finds himself in a moral dilemma involving his mom (Scarlet Johnasson), a Jewish refugee and a little thing called WWII. So he, er, turns to his new buddy for advice. Waititi himself plays the dictator. This looks insane. Oct. 18th

Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice
She was the queenshes like what Beyonc is now. Bonnie Raitt isnt wrong nor are all of the other talking heads who wax rhapsodic about the Seventies songbird in the trailer for biodoc. You get everything here: early days, big breaks, from-Sunset-Strip-to-superstardom trajectory, stadium concerts, industry sexism, creative risks that pay off big, late-act health problems, etc. And that voice. Good lord, that incredible voice. Sep. 6th.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
Hes called the Jangly Man. Hes one of several terrifying creatures youll meet in this Guillermo Del Toro-produced take on the horror book series. Hes proof that you may want to wear an adult diaper when you go to see this thing. Aug. 9th.

Wu Assassins
A young man (The Raid star Iko Uwais) discovers that hes the Chosen One, i.e. the guy gets the mystical power of a thousand sacrificed monks in order to defeat the descendants of Wu warlords. Who, by the way, happen to be in modern-day San Francisco, currently planning some power moves as Triad leaders. So the new Wu Assassin numero uno has to get a team of martial artists together to take these bad guys down, one of whom is wait for it his father. Yeah, theres lots of ass-kicking. Aug. 8th.

Zombieland: Double Tap
Oh, a sequel to Zombieland. Ok then. Mahyem, wisecracks, the walking hungry dead, Woody Harrelson in Elvis cosplay, explosions, famous faces (hi Rosario Dawson), an AC/DC songyou know the drill. Oct. 18th.

Succession Recap: My Dad Told Me To

Where to watch films Movies 2020 for free online

The media industry, you may have heard, is a precarious place to make ones career. The digital advertising landscape has been fully devoured by the twin powers of Google and Facebook, private equity firms have made a cottage industry of stripping publications for spare parts, and venture capital has (mostly) caught on that the news business, at its most profitable, isnt going to get you 10x returns. Seemingly every other week another site or publisher some of which you grew up reading is set to be shuttered.

Enter Succession. Its no secret that Media Twitter, the loose conglomerate of writers and editors and readers that make up the most insufferable corner of the internet, is enamored with the HBO drama, but its not because the show is about the industry. Waystar Royco, the corporation the Roy family owns, is a media company, sure, but it could just as well be an oil company for all the characters care; the money, not the news business, is the animating force. But on Sunday night, Succession took a turn; suddenly it was very much about the media. Its depiction was painfully accurate.

'Succession' Season Premiere Recap: A Better PlanWatch Alec Benjamin's Poignant Video for 'Must Have Been the Wind'

In the shows first season, occasionally wayward oldest son Kendall sticks his neck out to close what he believes is a bold business decision: purchasing Vaulter, a digital media company that splits the easily parodied distance between BuzzFeed and Vice. Fast forward a season, and Waystar Royco is against the ropes and looking to cut costs: How many skulls? is a question Tom, the new head of the companys news decision, would very much like answered. The bigger the number, the better. Quickly, Kendalls prized deal is on the chopping block.

Mass layoffs are often a surprise, and usually seem short-sighted. Succession, then, felt like a sort of wish fulfillment, if your wish is to see your worst professional fears confirmed and dramatized for the screen. If everyones sneaking suspicion is that people at the top of the chain make decisions not based on business savvy or a long-term vision, but instead capricious, self-serving sprints toward power, then Succession did an excellent job of making that feel real for media professionals, down to the inclusion of Chartbeat what editors look at all day to see how their stories are performing and oft-repeated phrases like Facebook changed the algorithm. It was as if the screenplay was cobbled together from leaked Slack chats.

Kendall, still dead-eyed and funneling cocaine, is a broken man. However, in his muted, pathetically humbled state, hes never been more useful to his father Logan. He loses the argument to keep Vaulter on the company roster, despite a spirited debate. However, once the decision is made, he goes about dismantling the company with a grim, straightforward satisfaction. Hes more brutal than he has to be (and gets more spit in the face for his efforts than your typical corporate raider), wringing everything he can from the company and knowingly torching any personal reputation in the process. Nothing matters more, it seems, than impressing his father. When the deed is done, and Vaulters young staff has cleared out their desks (except for the weed and food verticals, and the associated interns), hes rewarded with a seat in his fathers office. He takes his place with the energy of a beaten lap dog.

There was no indication in last weeks premiere that Succession was interested in holding back any plot in order to have a stately second season. This episode proved that the pace is more breakneck than ever. Shiv is still the heir apparent to Logans throne, and adapting well to the role. Despite a potential White House Chief of Staff job on the horizon, she burns her day job as a political consultant almost immediately. Theres no waffling, just action. It leaves Tom, her new husband, watery-eyed at the prospect that she wont simply make him the CEO of the company after all. Its touching, in retrospect, to think that Tom has held on to that aspiration for their entire relationship, despite overwhelming evidence that he would never climb to the top of the Roy ladder. Regardless, Shiv crushes his dream in a moments notice, refusing to acknowledge his obvious surprise and hurt.

Similarly, Roman has also held on to improbable designs for the CEO role, despite moving through the world in a state of dazed, profane confusion. Hes responsible for the shuttering of Vaulter, but doesnt have the first idea of how to go about closing down a publication; he knows to throw a dinner party, but has no idea how to interact with anyone for more than a 15-second burst. He tells Shiv, stupidly, that he believes himself to be next in line for the big job, not knowing that his fate, for now, has already been sealed.

For an episode that moved fast and with the shows signature dedication to illustrating the creativity of cruelty, Cousin Greg was once again the sole ray of lightheartedness. The hapless, gangly scion is looking for an apartment now, and having some trouble finding a place in the Manhattan housing market with enough storage space for him. Of course, hes eventually gifted a multimillion-dollar condo/Kendall party location, and fails to stand up for being against racism when he begins a job on the shows Fox News stand-in. Even the good ones turn out to be disappointments.

After making a big splash at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, Robert Eggers new film The Lighthouse finally has its first official trailer. The nautical psychodrama arrives in theaters October 18th.

The film, shot on 35mm black-and-white film and presented in Academy (square) ratio, stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as a lighthouse keeper and his apprentice, who are stationed on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. Naturally, the two men start to experience hallucinations, lunacy and psychological turmoil during their prolonged isolation. And yes, there are plenty of sea shanties, dancing jigs and pirate accents from both Dafoe and Pattinson, if thats what floats your boat.

The Lighthouse is the second feature to be written and directed byEggers, who previously made the 2015 period horror film The Witch (set in 1630s New England). Eggers co-wrote the script forThe Lighthouse with his brother, Max Eggers.

At Cannes, the film was met with wide acclaim and was named the best movie at the festivals Critics Week and Directors Fortnight by the International Federation of Film Critics.

The 2019 Emmys Will Not Have a Host

How to watch films Movies 2019 free online

Following in the footsteps of the Oscars, the 2019 Emmy Awards will not have a host, Fox CEO Charlie Collier announced at a Television Critics Association event Wednesday.

Collier said the network and the production team overseeing the show decided to go host-less while weighing what they thought the big themes of the 71st Emmy Awards would be, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Its our job to assess how to elevate the program, he said, and whats interesting about this year is how many amazing shows were saying goodbye to: Game of Thrones, Empire, Veep, Big Bang Theory You have to look at tradeoffs, if you have host and opening number thats 15 minutes you dont have to celebrate the shows. Our production team has had to balance those tradeoffs. I think it will give us more time to honor those shows.

Sepinwall on Emmys 2019: 'Thrones' Rules, But First-Timers Rise to the OccasionAlan Sepinwall Picks Who Should Be Nominated for 2019 Emmy Awards

This will be the first time since 2003 that the Emmys has not had a host (coincidentally, the show also aired on Fox that year). It previously went without an emcee in 1998 and 1975 when it aired on NBC and CBS, respectively.

Collier added that Fox was comfortable going ahead without a host after seeing the success of the host-less Oscars earlier this year. Originally, Kevin Hart was slated to host, but stepped down after years-old homophobic tweets of his resurfaced online. Hart subsequently apologized but insisted he had no plans to re-accept the gig, and the Academy never replaced him.

The Oscars did very well, Collier said. That was something we paid attention to. This is a unique year for some of Americas favorite shows and producers came to conclusion that spending more time on those was the right thing to do.

The 71st Emmy Awards will air September 22nd. Game of Thrones led this years nominees, notching 32 nods for its eighth and final season. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry, meanwhile, led the comedy categories, with 20 and 17 nominations, respectively.

Watch Adam Driver Expose CIA Torture in The Report Trailer

Adam Driver portrays Daniel J. Jones, the real-life Senate staffer who led an exhaustive investigation into accusations of CIA torture techniques, in the riveting new trailer for The Report. The film, which premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival, hits theaters November 15th before streaming two weeks later on Amazon Prime.

The clip opens with a montage of reaction shots to a news report of an obvious terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001. After 9/11, everyone was scared, Jones narrates. Scared it might happen again. It was my second day of grad school. Next day, I changed all my classes to National Security.

From there, we jump forward to the office of Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening), who shows Jones a New York Times headline about the CIA destroying tapes of interrogations of Al-Qaeda detainees. I want to find out what was on the tapes, she says. Why they were destroyed.

Jones begins his investigation but quickly runs into roadblocks from the government and the CIA. Nevertheless, he uncovers some disturbing facts including one example of a detainee who was waterboarded 183 times. Later, an adamant Feinstein proclaims, We will not allow this to be covered up.

Scott Z. Burns (screenwriter of The Bourne Ultimatumand The Informant!) wrote and directed the film, which co-stars Jon Hamm, Michael C. Hall, Corey Stoll, Maura Tierney, Tim Blake Nelson and Ted Levine. Steven Soderbergh co-produced the project.

Paul Rudd to Go Full Multiplicity in Living With Yourself Netflix Series

films Movies 2020 Online to Watch for free

Paul Rudd will follow in the multiple footsteps of Michael Keaton in Multiplicity this fall when he plays multiple versions of the same character in Netflixs new comedy series Living With Yourself. The series marks Rudds first leading role on a television series.

Rudd will be playing down-on-his luck Miles, who tries to make his life better by taking a spa treatment that is supposed to improve his life. The thing is, the treatment has created a whole new, better version of him, forcing him to become a better man in the process in his efforts to convince his wife Kate (Aisling Bea), his boss and himself that hes the worthwhile Miles. The program is told from multiple perspectives and will premiere on the streaming service on October 18th.

Timothy Greenberg, who has worked as a producer on The Daily Show and Wyatt Cenacs Problem Areas, created and wrote the eight-episode series. In addition to Cenacs show, his other most prominent writing credit is an episode of TBS family-on-the-run series The Detour, for which he also served as a consulting producer. The shows directors are Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who co-directed Little Miss Sunshine, Battle of the Sexes and music videos for R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Korn, among others.

A few years back, Rolling Stone evaluated Paul Rudds many roles and rated them by Ruddiness the leading-man charm, the character-actor chops and the comedians ability to crack us up. At the time, the Ruddiest role was the groom in search of a best friend in I Love You, Man. The least Ruddy role was the mature loner he played in Prince Avalanche, a role that was maybe a little too dramatic for true Ruddosity.

Star Wars Confirms Ewan McGregor-Starring Obi-Wan Kenobi Series for Disney+

In addition to the new trailer for The Mandalorian, Disney+ confirmed that a new Star Wars series featuring Ewan McGregor reprising the role of a young Obi-Wan Kenobi is in the works.

The franchise made the announcement Friday at the D23 expo, where Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy told the audience, We have all the scripts written, were ready to start shooting next year, Variety reports.

A Star Wars film featuring McGregor returning to the Jedi role was previously rumored when the franchise announced a series of spinoff films that would pad out the new Star Wars trilogy. The project will instead land at the Disney+ streaming service, which also has The Mandalorian and a new season of The Clone Wars in the wings.

After Alec Guinness put his stamp on the beloved character, Number Nine on Rolling Stones 50 Best Star Wars Characters of All Time list, in the original Star Wars trilogy, McGregor portrayed a young version of the young Jedi knight in the prequel films The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Return of the Sith. McGregor also provided a voice cameo during a scene in 2015s The Force Awakens.

Internally, weve wanted this for so long, but we know how much the fans want it too, Kennedy told EW at D23. [McGregor] wanted to come back, and hes so excited to play the character of Obi-Wan again. He really does embody who Obi-Wan is. And to think that Alec Guinness was really his mentor and now hes stepping into those shoes for this series, its really exciting.

Legion Series Finale: What a Long, Strange Trip Its Been

Watch this free Movies 2019

This post contains full spoilers for the series finale of FXs Legion.

As Professor X himself, Charles Xavier (Harry Lloyd), confronts the powerful telepath Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) on the astral plane late in the Legion series finale, Farouk scoffs at Xavier choosing a military knife as his weapon. The astral plane is an arena of infinite promise, Farouk notes. Surely, we have more imagination than that?

Legion creator Noah Hawley treated these three deeply strange, often riveting, occasionally indecipherable seasons as his arena of infinite promise. Coherence both narrative and emotional always came across as secondary to presenting the wildest and most memorable imagery possible. Why fight with a knife when you can transform into a samurai, or a tank, instead? Why explain things when you can stage a rap battle? Bigger, more colorful, and more bizarre was always the order of the day, particularly as the series facility with digital effects increased over time to make the powers of title character David Haller (Dan Stevens) appear disturbingly casual and real.

'Dark Phoenix,' Latest in X-Men Series, Should be the LastWhy Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Isn't in 'Dark Phoenix'

This philosophy could lead to remarkable images, like this seasons introduction of a race of time demons that appeared as steampunk shadows with crooked smiles and apelike hands. But Hawley and his collaborators had a tendency to get high on their own supply, and to weigh the style so much more heavily than the substance that even the cool visuals could become numbing. The first season felt just coherent enough for the garish depictions of superpowers and mental illness to feel like a thrilling bonus. But Season Two wandered aimlessly until not even the pretty pictures were enough to justify the muddled storytelling.

This third and final season mostly returned to that original, effective balance. At only eight episodes, and with one clear story arc David, now a cult leader, uses the time traveler Switch (Lauren Tsai) to try to rewrite his own damaged life story, while ex-girlfriend Syd (Rachel Keller) and her team try to stop him it was easy enough to follow. Little time was wasted on supporting characters who had never really come to life, like Jeremie Harris Ptonomy, who spent part of this season in a robot body with an interesting hairstyle, or Hamish Linklaters Clark, who was thrown out of a blimp after losing his narrative usefulness.

It was Legion playing to its strengths and largely avoiding its weaknesses, and the characters who had always mattered got fitting send-offs. Aubrey Plazas ruthless grifter Lenny, for instance, finally developed genuine, tragic emotions when a time hiccup caused her to spend an entire lifetime in a day with the daughter she never knew she wanted. Syd got to hang out with her teen self, each giving the other emotional closure, before this final adventure rewrote her timeline altogether, effectively killing off this version of her. Mutant twins Cary (Bill Irwin) and Kerry (Amber Midthunder) experienced one last role reversal, as Kerrys furious, thrilling battle against the time demons aged her into the older of the two siblings after a lifetime of calling Cary old man. (Never mind that the rewriting of the timeline should have fixed that problem, too; even at the end, Legion didnt want you to think too closely about anything that was happening.)

Most interesting of all was what the final season did with the shows most problematic character: David himself. Stevens had seemed miscast in the first two years, but he did very well as this new villainous iteration of the character. And the adventures in time allowed us to get to know both his dad, Charles, and his mother, Gabrielle Haller (Stephanie Corneliussen from Mr. Robot). Back in the first season, characters kept debating whether David was a powerful mutant or just mentally ill, before the answer turned out to be both. This season provided further nuance. In depicting Gabrielle as someone with her own sickness, the season made clear that Farouk didnt make David ill, but only exacerbated a condition hed inherited from one parent (just like he inherited superpowers from the other). It added a welcome level of poignance and depth to a character who had previously been a pencil sketch in a show with stunningly colorful backgrounds. When Davids core personality sang Mother from The Wall one final nod to Pink Floyd, one of the series creative touchstones as his other personae fought Farouk, it felt like the steak and the sizzle had come together again, and David seemed like enough of a person for the extended music video sequence to matter.

This final chapter even winked at the shows own fondness for gibberish. It opened with a series of title cards explaining, This is the end. Then, the beginning. Then, the end. What it all means is not for us to know. It is for history to decide.

How will history view Legion? From the start, it was already something of a footnote to our current era of comic-book dominance of movies and TV: a marginal X-Men character, on a channel not generally known for superhero properties (though it was the once and future home to Hawleys Fargo), presented in a radically different style from any other Marvel or DC property on the big and small screen. It didnt even get to hold the unofficial title of weirdest show on TV for very long, because Twin Peaks: The Return debuted a couple of months after Legion Season One ended, and David Lynchs inscrutability left Hawleys work seeming like Law & Order in comparison. There was a fair amount of critical buzz about the first season, particularly when we got to the Bolero montage, but Season Two cooled that enthusiasm and seemed to chase away all but the diehards.

When it was good, Legion offered imagery the likes of which I never could have imagined seeing on television. (And which would have seemed awfully trippy even if they were on a comics page drawn by Hallers co-creator, the very psychedelic Bill Sienkiewicz.) It offered spectacular supporting performances by the likes of Keller, Plaza, Irwin, Jemaine Clement, and more. And periodically including in this very satisfying finale all its mismatched pieces held themselves together just long enough to create something more beautiful than their sum total.

The end takes us right back to the beginning: baby David Haller, now freed of Farouks stain on his life, but still with many challenges to face thanks to the gifts and deficits his parents have given him. The Whos Happy Jack plays, just as it did in the series opening moments. Will this version of David grow up happier and healthier than the one depicted across these psychedelic 27 episodes of television? Well have to leave that up to our own imaginations. But for his sake, I want to imagine something a bit more prosaic for his new life than his old one turned out to be.

Marvel and director Ryan Coogler announced at Disneys D23 expo Saturday that Black Panther II will hit theaters in May 2022.

Although a sequel to the blockbuster superhero film was a given considering its massive box office success, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe unveiled its initial Phase 4 schedule, the years 2020 and 2021 were stocked with new franchises (The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Disney+ series (WandaVision, The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye) and sequels like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder, but no Black Panther follow-up.

However, to kick off the D23 expo, Marvel Entertainment put to rest all concerns by announcing that Black Panther II would arrive May 6th, 2022.

Additionally, following a day of speculation that had Game of Thrones star Kit Harington entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe as everyone from Wolverine to a Doctor Strange villain, it was revealed that the Jon Snow portrayer would be in The Eternals as Black Knight Dane Whitman (via Variety), joining a cast that already includes Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

During the Disney+ panel Friday, MCU head Kevin Feige announced that three additional series Ms. Marvel,She-HulkandMoon Knight are also in the works for the streaming service.
